The satellite recorded six fires on the territory of the airfield in Dzhankoy in the temporarily occupied Crimea. On the night of April 17, explosions were heard there, according to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.

The VIIRS/Suomi NPP satellite recorded six centers of powerful fires in Dzhankoy. The fire raged on the territory of the military airfield, which is actively used by the Russian troops.

Night explosions in Crimea

On the night of April 17, powerful explosions occurred in Dzhankoy, which is located in the north of the occupied Crimea. In addition, footage of a massive fire that broke out near the airfield was posted online.

Dzhankoy is a military airfield used by the Russians. It is known from open sources that the 39th Helicopter Regiment of the 27th Mixed Aviation Division of the 4th Air Force and Air Defense Command of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation is based there. According to preliminary data, there are three aviation squadrons.

The network also notes that the deployment of Russian S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft systems was also recorded in Dzankoy.
