The Saratov refinery is part of the Rosneft (Russian energy company). As of 2020, the plant’s oil processing capacity was 7.2 million tons.
The refinery produces over 20 products, including unleaded gasoline, diesel fuel, various grades of fuel oil, bitumen, vacuum gas oil, and technical sulfur.
Attacks on Russian refineries
Ukrainian intelligence services have carried out multiple attacks on Russian refineries, oil depots, and other military infrastructure within Russia. The targets include facilities that supply Russian occupying forces.
Recently, Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service reported that three refineries in Russia have partially ceased operations. Some had been previously attacked, while others are affected by Western sanctions, which have hindered timely repairs at these facilities.
