President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reviewed a report from the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashchenko, on the results of pressure on Russia's energy sector, according to the President's post.
"There are important results from our joint efforts with partners to put pressure on Russia. For the first time since the beginning of the war, a noticeable decline has been recorded this year in Russia’s oil production and refining," Zelenskyy wrote.
The head of state noted that Russia's oil and gas revenues are declining, and by the end of this year, Russia is expected to lose at least $37 billion in budgeted oil and gas income. Russian oil companies and the energy sector as a whole are losing tens of billions more.
Zelenskyy emphasized that all of this is limiting Russia's war machine. In addition, both conventional sanctions against Russia and Ukraine's long-range sanctions are proving effective.
Directions for further sanctions pressure have also been identified.
"I thank all our partners who are also delivering entirely justified legal blows against the vessels of Russia’s oil fleet – the Russians are now using fewer tankers. Separately today, I discussed with the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine the measures for bringing home Ukrainian children abducted by the Russians, as well as other operations abroad," the President emphasized.
HUR operations
On November 1, it was reported that as part of a special operation by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the Ring (Koltsevaya) oil pipeline in the Moscow region, used to supply the Russian army, was put out of operation.
Intelligence noted that the anti-drone net and the protection of the facility by paramilitary guards did not help.
It was also recently reported that HUR operatives conducted a special operation in Pokrovsk, destroying Russian soldiers and their positions.
Ukrainian intelligence forces deployed from helicopters into an active combat zone and began eliminating the enemy.
