In September, Samsung revealed a technology that uses smartphones and smartwatches to monitor brain activity and warn of early signs of dementia. The technology could become available to users as soon as next month, according to Android Authority.
What's known
According to Chosun Biz, at CES 2026, Samsung will showcase its Brain Health service. It will analyze daily data from smartphones and wearables to detect changes in cognitive functions. The service will be able to monitor users’ voice, gait, and sleep patterns.
Initially, Samsung also mentioned analyzing messaging patterns, typing speed, and app usage, but these metrics were not included in the latest report.
Brain Health can provide preventive measures if early signs of dementia or general cognitive decline are detected. It will also notify caregivers in case of emergencies.
Additionally, users will have access to personalized brain-training programs aimed at improving cognitive skills.
To protect data, Samsung will use Samsung Knox and store information locally on the device to enhance security and privacy.
The exact release date for Brain Health is still unknown. The service is practically complete, but Samsung is conducting clinical testing in collaboration with medical institutions.
''We are reviewing the specific release schedule and applicable applications, but we plan to put it at the forefront as we advance healthcare functions,'' a Samsung representative said.
