Samsung unveils new flagship Galaxy S24 series
During the latest Unpacked 2024 presentation, Samsung unveiled three new flagships in the Galaxy S24 series. The lineup includes the standard model, an extended Plus version, and a high-tech Ultra model with an integrated stylus, reports Android Authority.
All devices feature a water-resistant (IP68) body and retain the familiar design. They are equipped with the advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, except for some markets where Samsung may offer its own Exynos 2400 chipset. In both cases, effective cooling is ensured by an enhanced vapor chamber.
Samsung Galaxy S24
The base model Samsung Galaxy S24 comes with an aluminum body and a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. This display has a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz and achieves a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects against damage, and the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is located under the screen.
The main camera features a 50 MP sensor capable of recording 8K video with optical image stabilization (OIS). It also includes a telephoto lens with a 10 MP resolution for 3x optical and 30x digital zoom, along with a 12 MP wide-angle module with a 120-degree field of view.
The front camera, designed for selfies, also has a 12 MP resolution.
The battery capacity is 4,000 mAh, supporting fast charging at 25 W (50% in 30 minutes) and 15 W wireless charging. Among the additional features of the device are Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, two Nano-SIM slots, and eSIM support.
The Galaxy S24 will be available with 8 GB of RAM and storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB.

Samsung Galaxy S24+
The Galaxy S24+ also features an aluminum body, but the screen size has increased to 6.7 inches, and its resolution is now QHD+. The peak brightness and maximum refresh rate remain the same - 2,600 nits and 1-120 Hz, respectively.
With the larger device size, the battery capacity has also increased to 4,900 mAh. The 45 W charging allows the gadget to be charged quickly to 65% in 30 minutes. The cameras on the smartphone remain the same as in the base model.
The Galaxy S24+ will be available with 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
The Ultra model, featuring a 6.8-inch flat AMOLED display, stands out in the series as the only one with a titanium body, which, according to the manufacturer, surpasses aluminum in reliability. To protect the display, a new Gorilla Glass Armor is used, which is more resistant to scratches and other damages.
The core of the camera module is a 200 MP sensor. The device is equipped with two telephoto lenses - 10 MP and 50 MP, both with optical stabilization, providing optical zooms of ×2, ×3, ×5, and ×10. The maximum digital zoom reaches the traditional 100×. The wide-angle camera has a 12 MP resolution.
The Ultra model's battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, and the 45 W fast charging allows the device to charge to 65% in 30 minutes, similar to the Plus version. Additionally, the Ultra flagship is compatible with Wi-Fi 7.

Galaxy AI and its functions
The manufacturer highlights new artificial intelligence features called Galaxy AI, available on all three new models. For instance, to facilitate communication with foreigners, automatic translation of phone conversations in real-time is provided.
In dealing with texts, functionalities include spell and punctuation checks, creating concise summaries, and text paraphrasing using artificial intelligence. This gives the text a more informal character.

The features for photos include a quick search for products and image drawing, which is useful when rotating or distorting the frame, preventing cropping. Object recognition functions are also available for photos, allowing for resizing, moving, or enhancing visual effects, similar to the functionality of the new Pixel 8 flagships.
As for software support, the entire Galaxy S24 lineup runs on Android 14.0 with One UI 6.1 and will receive updates for 7 years.
