Rutte on Trump’s ultimatum to Putin: China, India, and Brazil face a severe blow

The United States may impose 100% tariffs on China, India, and Brazil if Russia refuses to sign a peace agreement with Ukraine within 50 days, states NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, according to The Guardian.
Rutte emphasized that Europe "will find the money" to ensure Ukraine can continue defending itself against Russian aggression until any peace talks begin.
According to him, yesterday’s decisions by US President Donald Trump were significant. First and foremost, Ukraine will now receive "massive arms deliveries from the US." This includes not only air defense systems but also missiles and ammunition, which will be purchased by European countries.
"Secondly, that President Trump said basically if Russia is not serious about peace talks, (then - ed.) in 50 days, he will slam secondary sanctions on countries like India, China and Brazil. My encouragement to these three countries is ... you might want to take a look into this because this might hit you very hard. Please make a phone call to (Russian president - ed.) Vladimir Putin and tell him he needs to get serious about peace talks," he added.
Rutte also promised that Ukraine’s partners will ensure the most favorable conditions possible for the start of peace talks.
Trump’s threats
US President Donald Trump earlier stated that if Russia does not end its war against Ukraine within 50 days, he will impose secondary tariffs targeting Russia’s partners.
These tariffs will be applied to countries that continue trading with Moscow.
