Russian forces targeted Konotop in the Sumy region last night using kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles, striking at intervals to cause greater damage through a combined attack, reports Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin.

The mayor stated that, fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries in Konotop. However, the city did suffer damage.

He noted that the attack was a combined one, involving more than a dozen Shahed drones and two ballistic missiles.

He pointed out that the Russian forces deliberately struck at intervals to cause more damage and to kill rescuers and medics, calling them cynical monsters.

"As a result of the enemy strike, a piece of our city's infrastructure was destroyed… But most importantly, there were no injuries or fatalities," Semenikhin reported.

He later added that a mobile headquarters for dealing with the aftermath of the strikes would begin work in the morning.

"Anyone whose home was damaged will be able to request assistance," the mayor said.

Combined air attack and explosions in Konotop

Last night, due to a drone attack by Russian forces, air alerts were declared in several regions. The enemy launched several groups of Shahed drones.

There were also reports of a series of explosions in Konotop, Sumy region, amid the Shahed attack. Anti-aircraft defense continued to operate in the area.

Later, the Air Force revealed the threat of ballistic missiles from the northern direction, and air alerts were declared in Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as in several other areas, due to the danger of missile strikes. The military recorded launches of high-speed aerial targets towards the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
