Explosions heard in Konotop, air defense shooting down Russian kamikaze drones

A series of explosions rocked Konotop in the Sumy region last night amid an enemy drone attack. Air defense forces and systems are actively responding, according to the Telegram channel of Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin.
Konotop’s mayor reported the explosion at 12:36 a.m. Kyiv time. Shortly after, he reported the movement of Shahed drones from the southern direction, noting that they were descending. Later, the mayor reported new explosions as the attack by strike UAVs continued.
Additionally, Semenikhin shared audio recordings online in which sounds resembling gunfire and explosions can be heard, likely caused by the crash of downed kamikaze drones.
Residents are urged to remain in shelters until the air raid alert is over.
Meanwhile, the Air Force reported that Russian occupiers launched a new wave of Shahed drones toward Ukraine. The latest group of enemy UAVs entered Ukrainian airspace from Russia’s Belgorod region.
