Russian forces are attempting to intensify their attacks on the Pokrovsk front. However, after a pause, the scale of their actions is not as large, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Viktor Trehubov, Spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic grouping of troops.

"Pokrovsk has remained one of their main objectives. The thing is, by the beginning of March, they (Russian troops - ed.) had exhausted themselves - physically and mathematically, in terms of personnel and equipment. Now, after the break they took for a few weeks, they are trying to reactivate their combat operations in that direction. The scale is no longer the same because there are simply fewer of them there, but nevertheless, they have partially returned," Trehubov noted.

Ukrainian spokesperson explained that the Russian forces have not returned to the levels of February, when it was essentially a small separate war, but they are still applying pressure with larger forces than they had at the beginning of March.

Situation on Pokrovsk front

Yesterday military experts shared details of the situation on the Pokrovsk front with RBC-Ukraine. According to them, the Russian army has stalled in this direction.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces have improved the situation in the Pokrovsk area. Through a series of counterattacks to the west, east, and south of the city, the Defense Forces were able to stop the active advance of the exhausted Russian troops.

On March 22, Russian forces shelled Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. As a result of the attack, three civilians were killed.
