Russia strikes Kyiv and region with 17 drones: Consequences revealed

Russian drones attacked Kyiv and the region on May 16. The Russian army launched 17 drones at the capital of Ukraine, according to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Last night, 17 Russian attack drones were spotted in the airspace of Kyiv and its environs. Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted targets over the capital from the southwest.
Wreckage of Russian drones fell in Kyiv. As of this morning, there are 5 locations where the wreckage of downed drones has fallen. All of them are in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. These are residential and non-residential buildings, a roadway, and the territory of a boiler house.
“All services are working at the site. It is very important to secure all available places with damage. Even the remains of drones can be dangerous. Therefore, I ask Kyiv residents to call 101 immediately if they find such remnants and do not come close," said the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Ukrainian air defense also worked in the Kyiv region at night. Russian targets were shot down, there were no casualties.
No hits to critical infrastructure were recorded, but debris fell in 2 districts.
In the Bila Tserkva district, the falling debris of the downed Russian targets damaged an administrative building, a shop, a non-operational cultural center, and an educational institution. A private house was damaged in the Bucha district.

On the night of May 16, Russia launched 112 drones at Ukraine overnight. Air defense forces destroyed 73 drones, and another 36 enemy imitator drones were lost locally (without negative consequences).
Odesa region was under Russian attack that night. As a result of the Russian attack, houses and cars were destroyed, and 3 people were injured.
A Russian drone hit the house of the director of the Odesa Zoo in the village of Ovidiopol near Odesa. The house was destroyed, fortunately, the man was not injured.
