On Monday, October 6, a Russian drone struck the perinatal clinic in Sumy, setting the roof of the building on fire, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy regional military administration, and Andrii Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

"Russia deliberately struck a medical facility in the Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy with a drone. At the time of the attack, there were 166 people in the facility, including 11 children," the head of the regional military administration says.

According to Hryhorov, everyone managed to get to the shelter, and there were no casualties.

Yermak clarifies that today, as a result of the Russian strike, the roof of the perinatal clinic caught fire. At the time of the Russian attack, there were 11 children, 35 patients, and 120 employees inside.

Russian strikes on Sumy region

Sumy and the region continue to be under constant Russian strikes.

Over the weekend, the Russian army launched a double drone strike on the railway station and two passenger trains in the city of Shostka. There are reports of fatalities and injuries, including 3 children.

A video from Shostka has appeared online, showing the aftermath of the Russian attack on the passenger train.

After the Russian strike, the city and part of the district were left without power.

Earlier, Russian troops launched a drone strike on Sumy.
