Russian forces still enter Kupiansk, but problem is under control

Russian forces are attempting to penetrate the rear of Ukrainian positions in the Kharkiv region, as well as into Kupiansk itself. At the same time, the occupation bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskil River is gradually shrinking, states Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group.
According to the spokesperson, despite the relatively low intensity of combat operations overall, the adversary is actively attempting deep infiltrations into the rear of Ukrainian positions.
This is occurring in the Pivdenno-Slobozhansk, Velykyi Burluk, and Kupiansk directions.
Russian forces are doing this both to create an illusion of presence and for actual attempts to entrench themselves. At the same time, enemy groups still occasionally manage to penetrate directly into Kupiansk from the north.
"Unfortunately, Russian infiltrations into the city itself still occasionally succeed. This poses a certain problem, but, again, we are fighting this problem. The operation to expel Russian units from the right bank of the Oskil River is, in principle, designed to resolve it," noted Trehubov.
At the same time, the occupation bridgehead on the western bank of the Oskil River between Dvorichna and Kupiansk is gradually decreasing thanks to the actions of Ukrainian defenders.
The command notes that while it is not announcing specific timelines for its elimination, the process of expelling the enemy continues.
Ukrainian military forces continue to restrain attempts by Russian groups to penetrate the rear of Armed Forces of Ukraine positions and are gradually pushing the enemy out of the right bank of the Oskil River.
Earlier, Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group, noted that the Russian bridgehead near Kupiansk is being pressed back under constant pressure from the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Furthermore, soldiers of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard, Khartiia, carried out a successful counter-offensive action in this section of the front, when Ukrainian infantrymen captured enemy positions in a forest area near Kupiansk within minutes.
