Russians reinforce troops near Urozhayne, Donetsk region - ISW battle maps
The Ukrainian Armed Forces, presumably, control the northern part of Urozhayne in Donetsk region, while the Russians are reportedly sending reinforcements to the settlement, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Situation in Kharkiv and Luhansk regions
Russian Forces conducted offensive operations near Kup'yansk and advanced on August 14. Geolocation images published on August 13 indicate that Russian Forces were advancing near Orlanka (22 km east of Kup'yansk) and Mykolayivka (24 km east of Kup'yansk).
Spokesperson for the Russian Western Military District, Serhii Zybinskyi, stated that units of the 6th Combined Arms Army (Western Military District) have taken control of numerous Ukrainian positions and observation points near Vilshany (15 km northeast of Kup'yansk).
Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian forces had taken positions and established a line of defense from Synkivka (8 km northeast of Kup'yansk) to Petropavlivka (7 km east of Kup'yansk), where positional battles are ongoing. One of them asserted that Russian forces are currently approximately 7 km from Kup'yansk.
Former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the so-called "Luhansk People's Republic" Vitalii Kyselov similarly claimed that Russian forces are on the outskirts of Kup'yansk, but ISW has not found visual confirmation of these claims. Kyselov suggested that Russian forces are unlikely to capture Kup'yansk in the near future due to the presence and defensive preparations of Ukrainian forces in the city.
Russian sources claimed that Russian forces were conducting offensive operations near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, and Kyslivka (20 km southeast of Kup'yansk). The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Ukrainian forces had carried out unsuccessful attacks near Pershotravneve (21 km east of Kup'yansk) and Mankivka (approximately 15 km east of Kup'yansk).
A Russian military blogger asserted that Russian forces were amassing reinforcements and introducing new units into the battle on the Kup'yansk front. Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported that Russian forces were increasing the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the international border between the Kharkiv and Belgorod regions, possibly to disrupt further pro-Ukrainian border crossings.
Russian sources claimed that on August 14, Ukrainian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Kup'yansk. The Russian Ministry of Defense and Serhuu Zibinskyi asserted that Ukrainian forces attempted unsuccessful attacks near Synkivka and the Usa forest (presumably between Synkivka and Lyman Pershyi).

A Russian military blogger claimed that Russian forces continue to advance in the Karmazynivka area (13 km southwest of Svatove) and Novoselivka (14 km northwest of Svatove).
Another Russian military blogger asserted that Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked near Myasozharivka (15 km west of Svatove) and that this is a new direction of the Russian attack. Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian forces were unable to breach the Ukrainian defense near Bilyhorivka (12 km south of Kremenna) and Spirne (25 km south of Kremenna).

Fighting in Donbas
Ukrainian forces continued their advance in the Bakhmut direction and made slight progress on August 14. Geolocation records published on August 13 show that Ukrainian forces made a minor advancement to the south of Klishchiivka (7 km southwest of Bahmut), attacking Russian positions.
Some Russian military bloggers claimed that Ukrainian forces had advanced in southern Klishchiivka, while others asserted that Russian forces repelled the attacks. A Russian military blogger also claimed that on August 13, Ukrainian forces carried out an unsuccessful attack near Ivanivske (6 km west of Bakhmut).
Russian forces continued their offensive operations near Bakhmut and reportedly made gains on August 14. Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian forces recaptured lost positions in Klishchiivka during a counterattack, while some asserted that Russian troops successfully repelled all advances in the settlement. However, ISW (Institute for the Study of War) did not find visual confirmation of these claims.
Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces made unsuccessful attempts to retake lost positions near Klishchiivka, west of Andriivka (10 km southwest of Bakhmut), and near Kurdyumivka (13 km southwest of Bakhmut).
On August 14, Russian and Ukrainian forces continued to engage in positional battles along the Avdiivka-Donetsk line. The Ukrainian General Staff announced that Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Avdiivka, Marinka (southwest outskirts of Donetsk), and Krasnohorivka (directly west of Donetsk). A Russian military blogger characterized the battles on the Avdiivka and Marinka sectors as positional, noting that both Russian and Ukrainian forces were concentrated on other parts of the front.
"Southern Axis"
On August 14, Ukrainian forces continued their offensive actions in the area along the border between Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions and reportedly made progress. Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar announced that Ukrainian troops achieved unspecified successes to the south and southeast of Staromaiorske (9 km south of Velyka Novosilka) and in the Urozhaine direction (9 km south of Velyka Novosilka).
Maliar also announced that Ukrainian forces continue their offensive actions in the Berdyansk direction (the area along the border between Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions). The "Vostok" battalion, defending near Urozhaine, claimed to be redeploying personnel to the rear and reinforcing the second-third defense lines, suggesting that Ukrainian forces might have advanced close to Urozhaine.
Russian military bloggers asserted that Russian forces repelled Ukrainian attempts to advance in Urozhaine. Several "war correspondents" continued to assert that Ukrainian forces control the northern part of Urozhaine, while Russian forces occupy the southern part of the settlement, with the rest of the territory in and around the settlement remaining contested.
Russian forces conducted limited ground attacks in the Donetsk-Zaporizhzhia border area on August 14, but did not achieve any confirmed or claimed advancements. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to retake lost positions to the west of Staromaiorsk.
Several Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian forces withdrew from Urozhaine, stating that units from the 40th Naval Infantry Brigade (Pacific Fleet) provided cover for their departure. However, ISW has not visually confirmed the complete withdrawal of Russian forces from Urozhaine, and Russian forces likely retain some positions in the southern part of the settlement.
A Russian military blogger asserted that units of the volunteer battalion "Sokil" from the 108th Airborne Assault Regiment and the reconnaissance platoon of the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment (both from the 7th Guards Mountain Airborne Division) are operating near Staromaiorsk and Urozhaine.
On August 14, Ukrainian Forces conducted offensive operations in the western part of Zaporizhzhia region, but no confirmed or announced advancements were made. The General Staff of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces continued their offensive actions in the Melitopol direction (western Zaporizhzhia region).
The Russian Ministry of Defense and other Russian sources claimed that Russian forces repelled small Ukrainian attacks near Robotyne (13 km south of Orikhiv). A Russian military blogger asserted that units of the 56th Airborne Regiment (7th Guards Mountain Airborne Division) repelled Ukrainian attacks in the Orikhiv direction.
Russian Forces conducted limited ground attacks in the western Zaporizhzhia region on August 14 and recently announced an offensive. On August 13, Russian military bloggers stated that units of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division (58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District) and units of the 108th Airborne Regiment (7th Guards Mountain Airborne Division) were advancing in the Orikhiv direction. The General Staff of Ukraine reported that Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions to the east of Robotyne.
Russian sources continue to assert that Ukrainian forces maintain limited positions on the left (eastern) bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. A Russian military blogger claimed that Ukrainian forces are continuing to cross to the eastern bank of the Dnipro using small boats near the Antonivka Road Bridge and Kozachi Laheri. Russian sources have released footage of a Russian Su-24 bomber flying over the Kherson region and suggested that it carried out strikes on Ukrainian positions near the Antonivka Road Bridge and Kozachi Laheri.
