Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have significantly reduced their activity on the left bank of the Dnipro River and have attempted only one assault, according to the Ukrainian Southern Defense Forces.

In the area of responsibility of the Southern Defense Forces, rocket and artillery units are conducting the most effective counter-battery combat in these weather conditions.

"The enemy does not stop trying to drive our units from their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River. But over the past day, it has significantly reduced its activity and dared to make only one assault. As in previous times, having suffered losses, it retreated to its original positions," the statement says.

The occupiers do not stop active aerial reconnaissance, shell with artillery, use attack drones of various types, and carry out aerial bombardment.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to expand their bridgehead.

The situation on left bank of Kherson region

In November, the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that they had conducted a series of successful operations on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. The Ukrainian defenders managed to gain a foothold in several bridgeheads.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces explained that the Defense Forces wanted to push the Russian occupiers away from the right bank of the Dnipro River. This will reduce the shelling of civilians.

Earlier, the Southern Defense spokesperson Natalia Humeniuk noted that the work of the Armed Forces on the left bank continued. According to her, the work is complicated by bad weather.

Earlier it was reported that the number of Russian assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro River decreased four times in a day.
