Russians near the center of Vuhledar in Donetsk region, fighting continues
Russian troops are almost in the center of Vuhledar. Active hostilities are underway, according to the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin.
“The active phase of the war is underway, the enemy is almost in the center of the city,” he said.
According to Filashkin, 107 people remain in the city, but children have been taken out. It is extremely difficult to deliver humanitarian aid, drinking water, and medicines to these people because of the active hostilities.
Filashkin emphasizes that the humanitarian situation in Vuhledar is extremely difficult, and it is not the only area with a similar problem. It is also difficult to deliver aid to Toretsk, where about 1,500 people remain, most of whom do not want to leave.
Situation in Vuhledar
Vuhledar, located in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region (about 57 kilometers from Donetsk), is currently in a tough situation. The Russian military is trying to encircle the city, deploying additional forces to advance.
The media recently reported on the possible tactical withdrawal of the 72nd mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians, but the military denied this information.
According to the advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, Russia has recently deployed up to 5,000 soldiers in the direction of Vuhledar.
