Russians launch offensive with armored support on two fronts
The Russians are actively attacking the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. They are using armored vehicles and aviation in massive offensives, according to Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the commander of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops.
"Two days ago, the enemy launched a massive offensive with the support of armored vehicles in the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. They are actively using aviation, guided aerial bombs," the statement says.
Russian attacks in two days
The enemy carried out 19 air strikes in two days. In particular, yesterday 42 enemy attacks were repelled east of Novobakhmutivka, south of Severne and Tonenke, and in the areas of Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske.
The day before yesterday, 49 attacks were repelled in the Avdiivka direction and 11 Russian tanks and 15 other armored vehicles were destroyed.
"Occupants are trying to advance both in the north and in the south near Avdiivka," informs Tarnavskyi.
He notes that the enemy is also active in the areas of Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, and Novomykhailivka, where our defenders repelled 14 attacks over the last day.
The situation in the south-eastern directions
The day before yesterday, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled three enemy attacks south of Novodarivka and west of Novopokrovka. And yesterday the enemy attacked three times north of Pryiutne and west of Novopokrovka.
Meanwhile, in the Melitopol direction, Ukrainian troops continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces
Russia's losses over the past day
Total enemy losses amounted to 430 people yesterday.
7 units of military equipment were destroyed, including:
- 3 tanks,
- 2 armored personnel carriers,
- one unit of special equipment.
The situation at the frontline
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian troops repelled more than 40 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka direction over the past day, and continue to conduct assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Missile forces hit 3 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.
Also, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian troops continued counteroffensive operations in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region on December 11. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also continued ground operations in the area of Krynky on the left bank of the Kherson region.
