Russian forces launched an assault in the Kursk region, boasting about it in a video. Ukrainian paratroopers crushed the invaders and captured two of them, according to the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"In the Kursk region, Russian forces attempted to storm the positions of our paratroopers. Mercenaries from the 155th Marine Brigade and the so-called Akhmat special unit planned to capture Ukrainian positions triumphantly, even filming videos to show how strong and brave they were," the military reported.

However, according to the Air Assault Forces, their confidence quickly evaporated on the battlefield, with the paratroopers eliminating all of them.

"Among the Russians, however, two had the sense to value their lives more than their dictator. They surrendered and remained alive. Medical assistance was immediately provided to them," the paratroopers noted.

Ukrainian forces advance in the Kursk region

Ukrainian troops have been conducting an offensive in the Kursk region for several months. According to recent reports, during the operation, Russian forces have lost over 17,000 soldiers in the Kursk area, with an additional 700 taken prisoner.

It is noteworthy that North Korea has dispatched troops to Russia to participate in the war. By Monday, October 28, 5,000 North Korean soldiers are expected to be transferred to the Kursk region, likely from an so-called "elite" unit.

Additionally, earlier satellite images from South Korea detected the movement of North Korean troops into Russia. Specifically, 1,500 special forces soldiers are currently stationed in Vladivostok. In total, North Korea has deployed 12,000 soldiers to Russia.
