Russian troops have begun to use chemical weapons more frequently at the front. There were 15 such cases recorded in a day, reports Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesperson for the Tavria Defense Forces.

"The Russians are increasingly using poisonous munitions. In total, over the past week they dropped grenades with chloropicrin asphyxiating and tear gas from drones almost 50 times," said the spokesperson.

According to him, only yesterday the enemy dropped poisonous munitions on Ukrainian positions 15 times. Almost all cases were registered in the Zaporizhzhia sector.

"When the enemy cannot take our trenches with a classic artillery strike or FPV drones, they use such tear gas," stated Likhoviy.

Other similar cases

Last week, the spokesperson for the Tavria sector said that the Russians had dropped chemical weapons nine times on Ukrainian positions in one day. The munitions dropped by the Russians are similar to those used by the police to disperse rallies. The spokesperson added that this is not the first time the occupiers have used this substance at the front.

It was also reported that since the beginning of 2024, Russians have carried out 346 chemical attacks against the Ukrainian military.

ISW analysts also noted that the Russian army has increasingly begun to use chemical weapons against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
