Russian occupying forces have deployed chemical weapons on Ukrainian defenders' positions nine times in the past day. Almost all incidents occurred in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to the spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the Tavria sector, Dmytro Lykhoviy.

"Over the past day, the enemy engaged in a total of 43 combat clashes, which also marks a certain decrease. Additionally, the Russians carried out 950 shelling incidents, including nine instances of drone-dropped tear gas grenades, which violates the Chemical Weapons Convention," he said.

According to him, the substance used by the Russians resembles what the police use to disperse protests. The spokesperson added that the occupiers have previously used this substance on the front line.

"We have had nine instances of drone deployment in a single day. Almost all of them were in the Zaporizhzhia region on the Zaporizhzhia front," Lykhoviy added.

Frontline situation

Russian occupiers have intensified their assaults on the front line. In particular, they seized Avdiivka and some neighboring villages. However, Defense Forces repelled the enemy from Orlivka and Krasnohorivka in eastern Ukraine.

The occupiers have also increased attacks in the Zaporizhzhia region, but according to recent data, they have slightly eased pressure on the Kupiansk front.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of troops, Illia Yevlash, reported that the occupiers seek to capture Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, with battles already underway in neighboring settlements of Ivanivske and Bohdanivka.
