Russian forces shelled the Sumy region on February 26, dropping aerial bombs on the Yunakivska community. Explosions and fatalities have been reported, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

"Today, February 26, at 2:15 AM, an airstrike was carried out on the Yunakivska community," the statement said.

The Russians used guided aerial bombs, with four explosions recorded.

"Preliminarily, two people – a couple who were at home – were killed as a result of the airstrike," the administration stated, adding that one private residential building was destroyed, and five others were damaged.

Shelling of the Sumy region

On the morning of February 20, Russian forces attacked the Sumy region, using artillery and aviation. Initial reports indicated that two people were killed.

Russian occupiers attacked another village in the Sumy region on the border between Ukraine and Russia on February 20. Four people were injured as a result of the shelling.

Occupiers also shelled the Sumy region on January 10, sparking a massive fire in the residential sector.

On January 7, Russian troops struck the city of Krolevets in the Sumy region with Shahed drones and missiles.
