Russians attempt to breach border in Sumy region - Ukraine's border guards

Russian troops are attempting to enter the territory of the Sumy region to encircle Ukraine's Defense Forces located in the Kursk region of Russia, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Andriy Demchenko, Spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"It is incorrect to say that the Russians have broken through the border (near Novenke - ed.) Of course, in trying to push the Defense Forces out of the Kursk region, the Russians are conducting dozens of assault operations. To develop their success, they are also attempting to cross our border to encircle our forces in the Kursk region," Demchenko said.
As Demchenko explained, the primary task for Ukrainian fighters is to prevent the enemy from crossing the border.
"Because this is their objective, and it is what we are currently monitoring in the direction of Novenke," the Ukrainian spokesperson added.
According to Demchenko, the enemy cannot use heavy equipment in this direction, so they are sending small assault groups aiming to penetrate as deep as possible into Ukrainian territory and secure their positions.
Situation in Sumy region
At the end of February, there were reports online about a supposed breakthrough by the enemy in the village of Novenke in the Sumy region, but this was later refuted.
As Demchenko explained earlier, Russian troops attempt to expand the zone of active hostilities at the border of the region. Meanwhile, the enemy is sending small assault groups towards Novenke, trying to establish control over these positions.
