Russians attack Ukraine with Iskander missiles and drones: Air defense response
Russia launched an Iskander missile and nearly 20 kamikaze drones against Ukraine. 12 out of 18 Shahed drones were shot down, according to the Air Force Commander, Mykola Oleshchuk.
"On the night of August 30, the enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Crimea and 18 Shahed-131/136 UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk regions," he said.
Air defense response
According to Oleshchuk, aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and the Air Force and Ukraine's Defense Forces mobile fire groups were involved.
"As a result of the air defense battle, 12 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs were shot down, and four lost location (fell on their own)," Oleshchuk confirmed.
Air defense was active in the Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Sumy regions. According to regional military administrations, four Russian drones were shot down in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and two in Mykolaiv.
Russia’s attack on Ukraine
On the night of August 30, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine. The drone alert was issued across Ukraine around 11:00 PM.
By the morning of August 30, it became known that the invaders had attacked an enterprise in Sumy, causing a fire and injuring nine people.
The occupiers also targeted an industrial facility in the Poltava region, but there were no casualties in this instance.
