On the night of February 20, the Russian invaders launched an air strike against Ukraine using various types of missiles and kamikaze drones. All Russian attack drones were destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces, according to Ukrainian Air Force Command.

According to the military, in general, the interventionists attacked that night:

  • 2 S-300 / S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from Belgorod region;
  • Kh-31 guided missile from Zaporizhzhia region;
  • 23 Shahed-type attack drones, which were launched from the Russian city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Repulsing Russian attack

The Ukrainian Air Force said that anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.

As a result of combat operations, all 23 Shahids of the Russian occupiers were shot down. They were destroyed within 7 regions, namely:

  • Kharkiv;
  • Poltava;
  • Kirovohrad;
  • Dnipropetrovsk;
  • Zaporizhzhia;
  • Kherson;
  • Mykolaiv.

Russian air attack on Ukraine

Earlier it was reported that on the evening of Monday, February 19, air raid alarms sounded in some regions of Ukraine due to the launch of Shahed kamikaze drones by the Russian occupiers.

Initially, the alarm was mainly in the eastern regions and later expanded to the southern and central regions. Also at 11:54 p.m., an enemy missile was spotted moving in the direction of Dnipro.

Around midnight, explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk, and the Dnipro suburbs during an air raid.

In the morning, Philip Pronin, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, said that an industrial facility in the region was damaged and a fire broke out as a result of the enemy attack. The official added that there were no casualties.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, said on Telegram that the fall of the wreckage of a downed kamikaze drone in the Dnipropetrovsk district damaged 3 country houses and 2 cars. There were no casualties either.
