Russian troops massively kidnapping Ukrainians in Zaporizhzhia region
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian invaders have resumed the practice of mass abductions of Ukrainians living in the temporarily occupied territories, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
The official notes that this is currently one of the top problems in the region.
"We see that the situation has become very aggravated in recent days when Russians began to take our people captive again. I can say that this is a top-priority issue right now," the official says.
According to Fedorov, over the past two weeks, the Russian occupiers have started to massively visit the apartments of residents.
In addition, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration speaks about the humanitarian crisis in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region.
"Otherwise, the humanitarian situation has been difficult and remains so," says Fedorov.
He clarifies that residents in the areas of Zaporizhzhia region occupied by Russian troops are unable to buy food.
Russian abduction of residents of Zaporizhzhia region
After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian invaders actively used the practice of capturing civilians, sending them to various filtration camps, torture chambers, etc. This happened, in particular, in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Last spring, Russian troops were actively carrying out filtration measures against residents of the temporarily occupied areas of the Zaporizhzhia region. The National Resistance Center noted that Ukrainians in the region were taken to torture chambers without explanation.
In mid-May 2023, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Andrii Chernyak, told RBC-Ukraine that the Russian occupiers had organized the so-called evacuation of the population from the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region to achieve several goals.
