Russian troops launched Shaheds in Southern Ukraine: Air defense update
The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces in the south of Ukraine successfully neutralized an enemy combat drone during the night of January 21, according to the Ukrainian General Staff's Facebook update.
"During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another aerial strike, deploying two Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs," according to a statement from the Ukrainian General Staff.
It is reported that Ukrainian air defense forces successfully eliminated one enemy drone.
Earlier in the night, the Ukrainian Air Force warned residents of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions about the threat of drone attacks.
Attack on Ukraine on the night of January 20
Last night, Russian forces also launched an attack on Ukraine using Shaheds. It is reported that terrorists released several groups of kamikaze drones. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the drones were launched from the southern direction.
Defense forces in the south reported that they had destroyed two drones in their area of responsibility: one in the Mykolaiv region and the other in the Odessa region.
The Ukrainian Air Force later reported that the enemy released seven attack drones and also used guided missiles from the S-300 anti-aircraft system. Mobile fire groups of the defense forces destroyed four drones, while the rest failed to reach their targets.
