Russian troops have intensified their activities in the Kupiansk sector. They are engaging in combat with the support of attack aircraft, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the day, there have been up to 65 military clashes. The dynamics of activity is observed in the Kupiansk and Pokrovsk directions, where almost half of the clashes took place.

Situation in directions

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia is trying to advance towards the village of Lyptsi. Four out of six attacks were repelled, and fighting continues.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops are active - they tried to attack 17 times. In particular, in the areas of Synkivka, Berestove, Nevske, Makiivka, Stelmakhivka, and Serhiivka. Near the latter, Russia acted with the support of attack aircraft. Fighting continues in three locations.

Five Russian attacks were repelled in the Lyman direction;

Two Russian attacks were repelled in the Siversk direction, the situation is under control;

Two firefights continue in the Kramatorsk direction, the situation is under control;

Combat actions continue in the Pokrovsk direction. 12 out of 15 combat engagements continue. The situation is the hottest in the area of Novooleksandrivka.

The number of combat engagements in the Kurakhove direction increased to 9.

"The units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are bravely restraining Russia's attempts to advance into the depths of the territory of Ukraine and are depleting the offensive potential of the invaders. In some areas, Ukrainian soldiers are taking measures to improve the tactical situation," the General Staff adds.

Russia's offensive

Recently, the Russian Federation launched an offensive in the Kharkiv region. Having failed, Russia is trying to stretch the line of fighting towards the Donetsk region.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the hottest areas are:

  • Pokrovsk;
  • Kramatorsk;
  • Kurakhove.
