Russian troops continue offensive operations across several sectors of the front, but no major breakthroughs have been recorded. At the same time, the enemy has intensified activity near the border areas of Ukraine’s Sumy region, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports.

According to analysts, Russian forces have increased activity near the state border in the Sumy region. Attempts by Russian units to infiltrate border areas have been recorded, indicating Moscow’s intention to establish a so-called buffer zone along the frontier.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops also carried out infiltration raids near Kozacha Lopan and northeast of Kharkiv. Despite Russian claims of advances, there have been no confirmed changes to the frontline.

In the Kupiansk and Borova areas, Russian forces continue their attacks, but Ukrainian defenders are holding back the pressure. Meanwhile, Russian troops have intensified drone strikes on roads and civilian infrastructure in the frontline areas of the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attempted reconnaissance and assault operations and sought to infiltrate several settlements. Ukrainian forces, however, have successfully detected and struck these groups.

Despite an active Russian information campaign claiming significant gains near Lyman, there is no independent confirmation of such advances.

The situation near Kostiantynivka remains difficult. Russian forces claim progress inside the city, but Ukrainian commanders insist that the Defense Forces are holding their positions and that the number of Russian troops within the settlement remains limited.

Heavy fighting continues in the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Dobropillia sectors. Russian troops are trying to pressure Ukrainian defenses but have not achieved any confirmed significant territorial gains.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces have also failed to make notable advances. On the contrary, Ukrainian troops are conducting counterattacks near Orikhiv and striking drone control centers and other military targets.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue systematically targeting Russian rear infrastructure. In recent days, ammunition depots, command posts, troop deployment sites, and logistics routes in the occupied parts of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions have come under attack.

Situation on the frontline

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian forces attempted offensives in 12 directions but have lost the initiative in almost all of them.

Slow Russian advances have been observed only in two or three areas where Moscow has concentrated massive amounts of manpower and equipment.

In particular, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have achieved success in the Pokrovsk sector.

At the same time, combat operations continue, as neither side intends to halt offensive actions on the battlefield.

In addition, Ukrainian strikes on bridges have blocked ground routes to Crimea and are disrupting Russian offensive plans.
