Russian troops attack Pokrovsk city center: Six people injured

"On January 30 at about 10 p.m. the enemy attacked the central part of the city. The shelling damaged 5 apartment buildings and injured 6 residents," the statement says.

According to the administration, as of 8 a.m., the contact center has already received 40 applications regarding the existing damage to residents' homes.

"Utility crews are assessing the extent of the damage and will begin restoration work," the Pokrovsk City Military Administration says.

Attack details

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, on January 30, at 10:30 p.m., Russian troops fired a rocket at the town of Pokrovsk, allegedly using S-300 and Iskander missiles.

"The explosions damaged an enterprise, where a security guard was injured. Five men aged 33 to 57 years were also injured," the agency says.

All the victims were sent to the hospital with multiple shrapnel wounds for medical care. One of them is in a serious condition.

Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into the criminal proceedings on the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated.

The occupiers are regularly shelling Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. For example, on January 24, Russian troops attacked an infrastructure facility in the Donetsk region, which left Pokrovsk without water.

On the night of January 6, the Russian invaders launched a massive attack on Pokrovsk. More than ten people were killed, including children.
