Russia carried out a cynical strike on a Jewish cemetery in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region. This happened on Tuesday, August 19, reported Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Azman.

He noted that today a Russian missile hit the historic Jewish cemetery in the city of Pervomaisk. The strike landed right in the middle of the cemetery, damaging many graves.

"I spoke with the rabbi of Pervomaisk, Levi Perelshtein, rescue services and specialists are currently working there. In the near future, it will be possible to assess the full scale of this crime," stated the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine.

Moshe Reuven Azman added that this is not the first such incident. Russian strikes have already been recorded on Jewish cemeteries in Kyiv, Hlukhiv, Bila Tserkva, and other places. Even Babyn Yar has been struck several times.

"The dead cannot respond or stand up for themselves, but it is the duty of the living," he emphasized.
