Russian forces struck a residential high-rise in Chernihiv with a drone this evening, December 23. The building was damaged as a result, according to the Chernihiv City Council and Chernihiv City Military Administration Head Dmytro Bryzhynskyi on Telegram.

Bryzhynskyi reported that rescuers have already managed to extinguish the fire that started as a result of the Russian attack.

"There are no casualties or injuries among civilians. Two people are in shock and are receiving the necessary assistance," he said.

According to him, gas and electricity networks were not damaged, and there are no interruptions in supply. However, the heating system was damaged and is expected to be restored within five hours.

Rescue service personnel, law enforcement, municipal guards, and utility and emergency services are working at the site.

The city council clarified that the attack damaged windows in the building as well as some vehicles.

Strikes on Chernihiv

Russian forces launched several attacks on Chernihiv this evening, December 23.

In particular, around 07:50 PM Kyiv time, it was reported that Russia struck a critical energy facility in the Chernihiv district. As a result of the attack, some residents of Chernihiv were left without electricity.

Shortly after, around 08:40 PM, it became known that the Russian army had hit a multi-apartment building with a drone.

Earlier today, December 23, Russian forces carried out a massive strike across Ukraine. Following that attack, almost all subscribers in three western regions were left without power.
