A Russian strike drone hit the 9th floor of a high-rise residential building in Chernihiv on the evening of December 23, according to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, Head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration.

According to the City Military Administration, the strike hit the 9th floor of the building. As a result, a fire broke out on the upper floor and windows were shattered.

"An enemy UAV hit the 9th floor of a high-rise residential building. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out, and windows were shattered. Information about casualties is being clarified," Dmytro Bryzhynskyi wrote.

Emergency services are working at the scene, and residents are being evacuated from the building for their safety. Dmytro Bryzhynskyi noted that the situation is under the control of rescue services.

The causes of the strike and the full extent of the damage to the building and its residents are still being determined.

Strikes on the Chernihiv region

Shortly before this, Russian troops struck an energy infrastructure facility in the Chernihiv district. As a result of the attack, significant damage was recorded, leading to power outages in part of the regional center.

In addition, it became known that an enemy drone carrying cluster munitions was neutralized in the Chernihiv region. Police received information about the discovered remains of an enemy UAV in the Koriukivka district — the drone had crashed in an open area.
