In the early hours of February 23, the Russian army launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The attack targeted civilian infrastructure, resulting in one fatality and several injuries, according to the Telegram channels of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.

Rescue services reported that the Russian strike caused a fire covering 60 square meters, which was successfully extinguished. However, there were casualties.

"Emergency responders rescued a man and a woman, both of whom were hospitalized. Unfortunately, the man later died in the hospital. Preliminary reports indicate that three people were injured," the statement said.

Meanwhile, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration provided updated figures, stating that the number of injured had risen to five. Among them are four women and one man. Three people remain in the hospital, with one woman in critical condition.

"In the city, civilian infrastructure has been severely damaged. Residential buildings, a church, a social institution, a business, and a gas station were affected. Several cars were also damaged," he wrote.

The State Emergency Service (SES) added that 28 rescuers and seven units of emergency equipment were involved in the response efforts.

Earlier, the SES also shared the aftermath of Russian drone attacks on Kyiv. Damage was reported in three districts of the capital, with fires breaking out in two of them.
