Overnight on August 28, Russian forces struck infrastructure facilities in the Vinnytsia region. Rescue teams shared photos showing the aftermath of the shelling, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reports.

“Russian troops hit a critical infrastructure facility. As a result of the strike, 17 settlements lost power. There is damage to residential buildings. No information about casualties has been reported so far,” the SES noted.

Rescue units are operating at all affected locations, including 95 personnel and 23 pieces of equipment, as well as the Ukrzaliznytsia fire train.

Previously, 29 settlements in the Vinnytsia region lost electricity due to Russian strikes.

Night attack on Ukraine

Overnight on August 28, the Russian army carried out a massive strike on Kyiv, killing 12 people and injuring more than 45, some of whom remain hospitalized. The attack damaged residential buildings and non-residential structures.

RBC-Ukraine also reported a strike by the Russian army on one of Zaporizhzhia's enterprises, causing a fire.

Earlier, the Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported two Russian strike drones moving along the Dnipro River toward Zaporizhzhia.
