Russian forces hit Odesa, damaging Chornomorets Stadium

Russian forces struck Odesa on Friday, August 7, damaging the Chornomorets Stadium in the attack, according to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, and the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
"The enemy attacked Odesa. Sports infrastructure has been damaged. According to preliminary information, there are casualties," Lysak said.
Lysak added that all details of the enemy shelling are currently being clarified.
The head of the Regional Military Administration did not specify the exact location of the strike. However, social media had previously reported an attack on the Chornomorets stadium.

Local Telegram channels reported that the stadium sustained significant damage, including shattered windows, while grass around the venue caught fire.
Preliminary reports also indicate that one person was injured in the attack. Kiper later confirmed that the strike damaged Chornomorets Stadium, located in central Odesa.
"The roof, glazing, and stadium stands have been damaged. According to preliminary information, unfortunately, one person was injured," Kiper said.
On the night of August 5, Russian forces attacked the Odesa region with strike drones, targeting civilian facilities and a local enterprise.
Additionally, on August 4, the Russian army launched a missile strike on the outskirts of Odesa, hitting near a market crowded with people and damaging civilian infrastructure.
