As a result of the Russian strike on the Pryluky tobacco factory, the enterprise had to suspend operations, according to the press service of BAT Ukraine.

"The consequences of the attack are currently being assessed, and the damage is being documented. The factory's operations have been temporarily suspended," the press service said.

Representatives of BAT Ukraine did not provide any further details.

Strike on BAT factory

On September 7, Russian forces attacked Pryluky in the Chernihiv region with drones. The strike hit the British American Tobacco (BAT Ukraine) tobacco factory, causing a fire to break out in the cigarette production facility.

At the time of the attack, employees were in a shelter, so there were no fatalities or seriously injured workers. A local resident who was at a nearby bus stop was injured.

The Pryluky tobacco factory is one of the largest taxpayers in Ukraine's tobacco industry and ranks among the country's top taxpayers overall. The facility produces Kent, Lucky Strike, Pall Mall, Rothmans, Capri and Pryluky cigarettes, as well as sticks for glo heated tobacco products.

Meanwhile, overnight on September 8, Russian forces struck the Imperial Brands tobacco factory in Kyiv.

The strike destroyed the factory's production facilities and infrastructure.
