Russian invaders attacked Ukraine once again at night and in the morning of December 8. The invaders tried to strike Kyiv, and hits were recorded in Kharkiv, and the Pavlohrad district of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Night attack by drones

The Russians have been firing Iranian-made kamikaze drones at Ukraine for several nights in a row. Last night, the occupiers sent 7 Shaheds from the area of Prymorsko-Akhtarsk. Air defense forces shot down 5 of them.

It is known that 5 drones were destroyed in Pavlohrad and Synelnyk districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Missiles at Kharkiv

At night, the Russian army launched 6 attacks on Kharkiv with S-300 missiles. A playground was hit, residential buildings, an educational institution, and about 20 cars were damaged. Fires broke out there.

A 36-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were injured in the attack. He was hospitalized.

Morning terror

In the morning, an air alert was declared in Kyiv, east, south, and central regions. The Air Force reported that after a long pause, the occupiers fired missiles from Tu-95 strategic bombers.

Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said during a telethon that the Russians had fired 19 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles. Air defense forces destroyed 14 of them. The missiles were launched from 7 Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Saratov region.

Kyiv and the region

All the missiles flying at the capital were shot down on approach. The Russians have not attacked Kyiv with cruise missiles for 79 days.

No damage was recorded in Kyiv, including no casualties or injuries.

In the morning, air defense systems were operating in the Kyiv region to counter enemy missiles. No hits were recorded. However, private houses in several communities were damaged by falling debris from downed missiles. Windows were smashed, and walls were partially destroyed. Emergency services are working on the ground.

Pavlohrad

According to the Air Force spokesperson, some cruise missiles were flying toward the Dnipropetrovsk region in the morning, and some of them were destroyed.

A missile attack hit Pavlohrad district. According to Yurii Ihnat, infrastructure facilities were attacked. As a result of the missile attack, one person was killed and four injured. They were hospitalized and are undergoing surgery. Two people are in hard condition.

According to the Regional Military Administration, the massive rocket attack destroyed Pavlohrad, Ternivka, and Yurivka communities. An industrial enterprise, 16 private houses, 5 summer cottages, a church, and a car were damaged.

Other shelling of Ukraine

  • Kherson region: 54 attacks with mortars, artillery, Grad, ATGMs, tanks, UAVs, and aircraft were recorded over the day. The Russians hit residential areas. Six people were wounded.
  • Zaporizhzhia region: Russians launched 82 attacks on 20 localities. No civilians were injured.
  • Kharkiv region: Russians shelled 17 localities over the last day. Three civilians were wounded.
