Russian soldier shoots civilian in Pokrovsk direction, investigation launched

In the Pokrovsk direction, a Russian soldier shot a civilian. The Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the war crime, according to the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to reports, a video was posted on one of the Telegram channels showing a Russian Armed Forces soldier with a white armband firing at a civilian near the settlement of Rodinsky in the Pokrovsk district. The soldier then approached the victim lying on the road, inspected them, and fled the scene.
Information about the incident has been recorded in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under the charge of committing a war crime that caused a person’s death (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, investigators from the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions are conducting a pre-trial investigation.
Urgent investigative and search actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances of the incident and identify those involved among Russian military personnel.

Killings of civilians
Previously, in Toretsk, Russian forces killed two civilians and wounded another. Law enforcement has opened an investigation.
Russian soldiers also shot a civilian woman on the outskirts of Terny in the Donetsk region. A pre-trial investigation has been launched.
