US President Donald Trump says that oil exports from Russia have significantly decreased. He also hopes that the war in Ukraine will end.
During a press conference, Trump was asked if he had any updated information regarding sanctions on Russian oil and how this could affect the war in Ukraine and US interests.
"Well, I can say that the exports from Russia are way down. We just like to see an end to the war. We'd love to see an end to that war," the US President said.
He reiterates that many people are dying in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
"So we think at some point they're going to get very smart and they're going to do that. So yeah, the Russian exports are substantially down," the White House chief adds.
In the same conversation, Donald Trump acknowledged that it had not been possible to end the war in Ukraine, but that significant progress had been made on this issue.
"We're looking to end one more if that's possible. Russia and Ukraine. We haven't gotten there yet, but I think we've made a lot of progress," he said.
