Drones were surveying Russia's Krasnodar Krai, resulting in a fire breaking out at the Poltavskaya oil depot, which is strategic for the region, according to OSINT channels.

The emergency at the oil depot was confirmed during the night of June 25 by the head of the Krasnoarmeysky district, Alexander Kharitonov. On the Russian messenger Max, he wrote that debris from a downed drone had fallen on the oil depot.

"As a result of falling UAV debris at the Poltavskaya oil depot, a fire broke out. Emergency and operational services are working at the scene," OSINT channels quoted the official as saying.

Kharitonov added that traffic along the road connecting the stanitsa of Poltavskaya and the Trudobolikovsky farmstead has been temporarily blocked.

The governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, did not write anything on his official Telegram channel about what had happened.

The Poltavskaya oil depot is a regional fuel infrastructure facility that supplies fuel for part of Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea. The tank farm has about 28 storage tanks.

Russia's fuel crisis and drones

Ukraine's Defense Forces have significantly impacted Russia's energy sector, striking relevant oil and gas facilities. As a result, the aggressor has already experienced a severe fuel shortage, and, until recently, one of the main exporters of energy resources, it has been forced to import them from other countries.

For example, according to media reports, Russia has asked Kazakhstan for 50,000 tons of gasoline due to the fuel crisis.

Speaking about recent UAV attacks, the recent strike on the Moscow refinery is considered significant, as it has ceased operations at least until 2027. A major fire broke out at the facility following the drone attack, damaging both the plant itself and its products.
