Russian offensive in Kursk region fails: Stormtroopers hide in groves
Russian forces attempted to attack Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region. However, the offensive failed, and the remnants of the assault units are hiding in the groves, according to the press officer of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade (SMB), Anastasiia Blyshchyk.
According to her, the situation in the Kursk region is difficult but controlled, with nothing critical for the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the moment.
"Yesterday was indeed a 'dark day' for the Russian occupiers, who tried to storm in 5-6 waves. They attempted to break through with vehicles, landing troops, and storming settlements. However, 10 units of armored vehicles were destroyed by the 47th SMB soldiers," said Blyshchyk.
She added that three armored personnel carriers were blown up by mines, and other equipment was destroyed using FPV drones, and the Stugna anti-tank guided missile system.
"Other armored vehicles were destroyed by our adjacent brigades, with whom we are stationed along the same front. Russian invaders were also eliminated. The part that managed to survive scattered and hid in the bushes. So, yesterday was a failed assault by the Russian occupiers," Blyshchyk said.
Situation in Kursk region
Earlier, the Deep State project reported about an exceptionally tough day near the village of Novoivanivka in the Kursk region, where the enemy attempted five times to launch a surprise attack on the village and its surroundings. In total, 29 units of military equipment were involved.
"At least 18 out of the 29 units were destroyed. The number of dead and wounded 'scum' is hard to count, but it could reach up to 300. Of course, some may have hidden in the bushes or escaped," Deep State reported.
According to The Telegraph, Vladimir Putin, in an attempt to reclaim the Kursk region from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, sent 50,000 Russian and North Korean soldiers. Putin wants to retake control of the Kursk region by January 20, ahead of the inauguration of the elected US president, Donald Trump.
