Russian night attack on Kyiv: All drones failed to reach their targets
In the early hours of October 3, the Russian military once again targeted Kyiv using strike drones. None of the drones reached their targets, with Ukrainian air defense forces intercepting and destroying about 15 of them, according to Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
Officials noted that the tactics and attack methods have remained unchanged for many months:
- Nighttime attacks;
- Use of strike drones like Shahed;
- Approaching the city from various directions and altitudes;
- Attacks launched in different-sized groups.
The air raid alert in the capital lasted more than five and a half hours. The first wave of drones was launched before midnight, with new drones continuously added throughout the night. "However, none of the Russian drones reached their targets," KCMA stated.
According to the administration, air defense forces detected and shot down about 15 strike drones in the airspace around and above Kyiv.
Operational reports confirmed debris falling in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, though the damage was minimal. No destruction or fires occurred, and there were no reports of casualties, the KCMA added.
It should be noted that on the night of October 3, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine due to a Russian drone strike.
The first wave of the attack occurred around midnight, with air defense in action in the capital. Drone debris was found in the Desnianskyi district.
Additional explosions were heard in Kyiv at around 2:30 AM.
