Russian missile strike on Kyiv: Casualties reported
There are casualties after the Russian rocket attack on Kyiv on March 25, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
"There are currently two victims in the Pecherskyi district. One woman was treated on the spot. The second one was hospitalized by doctors," he said at 11:15 a.m.
Just a few minutes later at 11:22 a.m., Klitschko clarified that the number of injured had increased to 4 people.
"Four injured in the Pecherskyi district. Two women were treated on the spot. Two, including a 16-year-old girl, were hospitalized," the mayor said.
As of 11:42 a.m., there were five injured in the Pecherskyi district.
"Three of them were treated on the spot. Two were hospitalized," Klitschko stated.
As of 12:50 p.m., the number of injured continues to grow.
"We know about 7 injured people in the Pecherskyi district of the capital, two of them were hospitalized," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said.
According to Klitschko, rescuers continue to clear the rubble.
"Next to the destroyed building of the state educational institution there is a dormitory where there were many people. Fortunately, there is no damage there and no one was injured," said the mayor.
As of 14:11, the number of people injured in Kyiv due to the ballistic attack has increased again.
"The number of injured in the Pecherskyi district of the capital has increased to 9 people, two of them are hospitalized. The work continues," the rescuers said.
According to KCMA, a child is among the hospitalized. In addition, five more of the nine victims were diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.
Russian rocket attack on Kyiv
At about 10:30 a.m. on March 25, an air alert was declared in some regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv and the region. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a ballistic missile threat. Almost immediately, explosions were heard in Kyiv.
