Russian Ministry of Defense claims attack by Ukrainian drones: Details
The Russian Ministry of Defense has claimed an attack by Ukrainian drones. In some regions, air defense systems were operational, according to RIA Novosti and the social media page of Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region.
According to a source in the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of nine Ukrainian drones were purportedly intercepted and destroyed over Russian territory.
"Nine Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed overnight: two over the Belgorod region, one over the Voronezh region, and six over the Black Sea, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense," Russian media stated.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, reported the alleged operation of air defense systems and one injured woman.
"During the night in Belgorod, the Belgorod region, and the Valuyki district, a missile danger was declared. Our air defense system was activated. Unfortunately, one woman in the Valuyki district was injured and taken to the regional hospital. She is currently receiving all necessary medical assistance," wrote Gladkov.
The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexandr Gusev, did not respond to the situation.
Attack of drones on Russian territory
Earlier, we reported that Russia claimed a massive drone attack during the night of January 30. They purportedly managed to shoot down 21 drones.
On January 21, in the vicinity of the oil terminal in Ust-Luga, the Leningrad region, an explosion occurred. Residents of nearby cities reported the sounds of drones flying, and a fire started. Approximately 150 people had to be evacuated from the facility.
Later, it was revealed that this special operation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine.
