An agent of the partisan movement Atesh carried out a successful sabotage operation in the industrial zone of the Volodarskyi district of Russia’s Bryansk region, disabling equipment at an electrical substation, according to a statement by the Atesh movement.
The Atesh movement said the substation is a critical link in Russia’s military logistics chain.
According to the group, it supplies power to the Polpinska railway station, which is used to transport ammunition and military equipment to the front. Cutting power to the facility causes malfunctions in automated systems and leads to significant delivery delays.
The same substation also supplies electricity to industrial facilities in the area, including the Bryansk Repair Plant and other enterprises working for Russia’s Ministry of Defense.
In addition, it provides power to fuel storage bases. Without electricity, these sites face serious problems with pumping equipment and security systems, the movement said.
"Atesh strikes precisely at the weak points of Russia’s energy system, paralyzing its rear," the movement said in its statement.
Atesh sabotage operations
The Atesh movement continues to systematically undermine the enemy’s communications and logistics network across Russia.
On January 7, it was reported that an Atesh agent carried out a successful sabotage operation, destroying a communications tower in Kursk. The target was a key communications hub actively used by numerous Russian military and security units stationed in the city.
The destruction of the tower immediately disrupted communications between such critical facilities as the 27th NBC Protection Brigade, the regional offices of Russia’s FSB and Federal Penitentiary Service in Kursk region, as well as many other military sites.
Atesh partisans have also disrupted Russian railway logistics on the Kupiansk direction by destroying a diesel locomotive used to transport military cargo, primarily supplying the Russian forces grouped around Kupiansk. The loss of the locomotive complicated the formation of military trains and disrupted departure schedules for shipments of weapons and equipment.
Earlier, Atesh agents carried out another sabotage operation in Russia’s Rostov region, paralyzing a key railway logistics hub supplying the Russian army near Rostov-on-Don.
