The explosion in a Russian military unit left Captain Konstantin Nagayko, who is involved in war crimes against Ukraine, in critical condition. His unit struck a cafe in the village of Hroza, killing 59 civilians, Defense intelligence of Ukraine reports.

Intelligence reported that on Friday, January 3, an explosion occurred in the village of Shuya, Ivanovo region of Russia, which left Captain Nagayko, a battery commander of the 112th Missile Brigade of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, in critical condition.

According to the DIU, Nagayko was directly involved in a full-scale war against Ukraine. Moreover, he was involved in strikes with Iskander ballistic missiles against civilian and military targets in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

“In particular, Nagayko's unit committed a war crime in the village of Hroza, Kupiansk district, on October 5, 2023, when it launched a missile attack on a cafe during a wake. It killed 59 civilian Ukrainians, including an eight-year-old boy,” the intelligence underlined.

As a result of the explosion that occurred in his military unit, Nagayko received multiple shrapnel wounds, including to the brain, which required a skull trepanation. The 29-year-old officer's condition is critical, and the Russian missile brigade believes that he has almost no chance of survival.

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reminds that every war crime against the Ukrainian people will not go unpunished.

“There will be a just retribution for every crime,” the DIU emphasized.

Missile attack on Hroza village

On October 5, 2023, Russian troops fired a missile at a cafe in the village of Hroza, Kharkiv region, where 330 people lived, according to official figures. At that time, a wake was held there for an Armed Forces soldier who was reburied that day at the local cemetery.

Later it became known that the death toll had risen to 59 people.

In addition, the SSU exposed two targeters of the Iskander system that Russia used to fire on the village. The criminals were two local residents, 30-year-old Volodymyr Mamon and his younger brother, 23-year-old Dmytro Mamon, who sided with Russia during the occupation of the region and moved to Russia with their families.

RBC-Ukraine also wrote that the correspondence of the traitors who pointed the Iskander at the village of Hroza was posted online.
