Russian MiG-31K crashes

In Russia’s Lipetsk region, a MiG-31 multirole fighter jet has crashed. The crew managed to eject in time, according to Russian media reports.
The aircraft went down while approaching for landing after completing a scheduled training flight.
The fighter’s crew ejected safely, and their lives are not in danger.
The MiG-31 is a Soviet twin-seat, supersonic, all-weather long-range interceptor fighter.
It was the first fourth-generation Soviet aircraft and is a modernized version of the single-seat MiG-25 fighter from the 1970s.
Since February 2022, during the full-scale war, Russia has frequently used the MiG-31K as a platform for launching Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles.
A group of four MiG-31s can control airspace spanning up to 1,100 kilometers along the front line.
