Russian aircraft crashes into rock: Mi-8 wreckage found, all on board killed

A missing Mi-8 helicopter, which had been out of contact for almost two days, has been found in Russia. The aircraft crashed into a hill in the Khabarovsk Territory, killing all five people on board, according to Russian media.
On the morning of July 16, after almost two days of searching, the wreckage of an Mi-8 aircraft that disappeared during a flight from Okhotsk to Magadan was found in the Khabarovsk Territory.
As it turned out, the aircraft crashed into a hill. According to preliminary data, all five people on board died. There are three crew members and two technicians.
The helicopter took off from Okhotsk and was scheduled to arrive in Magadan at 7 p.m. local time on July 14. It was a flight of the Vzlet airline.
However, during the flight, the pilot did not report any course deviations, in particular, that he had moved 60 kilometers away from the point of departure. In the evening, communication with the plane was completely lost.
Two aircraft were involved in the search operation: An An-26 took off from Magadan, and another Mi-8 helicopter from Okhotsk. However, difficult weather conditions significantly complicated the search.
On the morning of July 16, the missing helicopter was found. According to preliminary information, it collided with a hill during the flight. All five people on board were killed.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has already opened a criminal case under the article on violation of flight safety rules that resulted in the death of two or more people. An investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy is currently underway.
