Russian Mi-28 helicopter crashes, crew killed
A Mi-28 attack helicopter performing a routine flight has crashed in the Kaluga region of Russia, Russian news agency TASS reports.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the helicopter crashed in a forest near the village of Klenki, Zhizdrinsky district, Kaluga region.
The aircraft was performing a scheduled flight. The crew was killed in the incident. There was no damage on the ground.
A commission of the Russian Aerospace Forces is working at the crash site.
Unlike the Ka-52 Alligator helicopter, the Mi-28 is not equipped with an ejection system.
Aircraft accidents in Russia
Recently, a Russian-made Superjet 100-passenger plane owned by Gazprom crashed near Moscow. According to a preliminary version, the engine of the plane failed.
In June, a Russian Su-34 bomber crashed in North Ossetia. The crew was killed.
Earlier, a Robinson R66 helicopter crashed in the Amur region. The crew also did not survive.
