Russian forces attacked the Sumy region with guided aerial bombs (KABs). As a result of the strike, people were injured, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

As reported by the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, five people were injured as a result of the strike. The enemy attack damaged private residential buildings, infrastructure facilities, and vehicles.

Other details regarding the location of the strike, the nature of the damage, and the condition of the victims are being clarified. Official services continue to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Context of the news

Attacks using KABs remain one of the main methods of Russian strikes on the front-line regions of Ukraine, due to the ability to strike from a relatively long distance. The occupiers attack the Sumy region especially often.

On the night of July 25, a Russian drone hit the territory of the vehicle depot of the Nova Poshta sorting terminal in Sumy. Three people died.

Also on July 24, the Russian army struck a gas station. One person died. A supermarket was also damaged.

And on the night of July 21, Russian forces launched drones into a 9-story building in Sumy, causing a fire on the first floor.
