Russian forces strike Sumy region with guided aerial bombs: Two people killed

Russian forces dropped guided aerial bombs on Krasnopillia in the Sumy region on March 20. As a result of the strikes, two people were killed, according to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the prosecutor's office, at around 03:20 PM Kyiv time, Russian forces dropped guided aerial bombs (KABs) on a two-story residential building in the settlement of Krasnopillia, Sumy district.
"As a result of the enemy attack, a 69-year-old woman and a man were killed. Two days ago, the man had turned 51," the prosecutor's office reported.
Nearby houses were also damaged by the bomb strikes.
Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement officers, are documenting the consequences of the attack. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) in the Sumy region.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is underway into the commission of war crimes that resulted in the loss of life (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the prosecutor's office added.
Law enforcement urged residents of frontline settlements to follow safety measures, remain in shelters, and avoid danger until the threat is eliminated.
Situation in the Sumy region
On the night of March 19, Russian forces attacked the Sumy region with drones. In particular, an enemy drone crashed onto the roof of a hospital, marking the second healthcare facility damaged in a single night.
Earlier, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that the Russian army was amassing forces for more active operations in the border area of the Sumy region. However, this does not indicate an offensive on Sumy.
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG) continue attempts to cross the Ukrainian border in the Sumy region and are also mining the area.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the General Staff debunked a fake report about Russian advances in the Sumy region. Defense forces are swiftly eliminating the enemy.
